Cycling is one of the favorite forms of recreation for all generations, so it is not surprising that the children’s WONDER bike ride, which took place this Sunday, October 24, in Novigrad, was a complete success! In the warm and sunny autumn weather, as many as 60 participants, children and parents, joined the party.
Children’s WONDER bike ride is a promotional event organized by the City of Novigrad-Cittanova, within the project “WONDER – Child Friendly Destination” which is co-financed through the transregional cooperation program INTERREG ADRION with the support of the Cycling Club Novigrad Cittanova and the Tourist Organization of Novigrad-Cittanova. Children and parents arrived by 11 AM at the Karpinjan playground, in a great mood, and so the ride began. First, all the children, accompanied by their parents, drove on a fantastic eight-kilometer trail, on the route from Karpinjan to Mareda, enjoying the company, the view of the sea and the autumn sun. And after this adventure, everyone cheered on the competition of children from the younger age group of three to five years, and those aged six and seven who showed cycling skills on the short route of the Karpinjan playground, competing who will reach the finish line faster.
In the great atmosphere of this special day, both young and old had a good time, and although the event had a competitive character, it was most important for all participants to spend a pleasant and unforgettable few hours, marked by socializing, good mood, promotion of a healthy lifestyle and recreation. and child friendly content in Novigrad. For this reason, all the participants received medals for participation, for which we sincerely congratulate them, and the fastest from the competition, in addition to medals, were given special promotional WONDER gifts.
The event finished with lunch and drinks prepared by the organizers for all children and parents.
The duration of the project is 24 months and is funded under the second priority of the program (2.1) “Sustainable Region” from the INTERREG ADRION program. The budget of the City of Novigrad-Cittanova amounts to € 154,330, of which € 131,180.67 from the ADRION program.
