On Friday, February 18, 2022, the project “WONDER-Child friendly destinations” from the INTERREG ADRION program was presented in the City Hall of the City of Novigrad-Cittanova, in which the City of Novigrad-Cittanova is one of the partners. After a series of research, surveys and workshops, information and views were collected from children and interest groups, which brought to the idea for the pilot activity of the project – an Educational Park, which was presented on the same day and officially opened. The purpose of the park is to educate children in areas such as physics and biology, using interactive outdoor equipment. Also, new child-friendly urban equipment has been installed that will create a children’s corner in the heart of the old town. It is extremely important to bring science closer to children, to interest them in learning and nature protection, because that is the key to their future, and the educational park is a small contribution of the City of Novigrad-Cittanova on this path.
Anteo Milos, Mayor of the City of Novigrad-Cittanova, Corinne Pozzecco, Project Coordinator in the City of Novigrad-Cittanova and Vesna Ferenac, Director of the Novigrad Tourist Board spoke at the press conference at the City Hall.
“We are continuously working on the development of our city and improving the city’s contents, while taking care that all generations are represented. Our youngest are our top priority, and therefore the idea of creating educational content tailored to them in the heart of Novigrad immediately found fertile ground.” I am looking forward to the children of Novigrad, but also to all the little visitors who come to Novigrad from various parts of Croatia, as well as from many other countries, to have great fun in the Educational Park, and at the same time acquire many useful knowledge. ” – said the mayor of Novigrad, Anteo Milos, at the presentation of the project.
